For this project, I think using XML may be necessary. XML stands for "Extensible Markup Language". It's a way to transport data between different software applications.
The purpose of my project is to generate takeoffs, counts, ... directly from a BIM model. Using .docx and .xlsx files can be a solution. While doing research, I discovered the possibilities of Office Open XML. It seems that MS Office makes use of Office Open XML. Office Open XML or OOXML is an open document format for office documents. The problem is that I am new to Office Open XML, so I have to do a lot of research before I am able to start working on my project.
